Welcome to The School District of Phelps, a small, rural K-12 school district located in the western portion of the Nicolet National Forest on the Michigan border. The school overlooks the shores of North Twin Lake in Vilas County. There are approximately 1,366 year round residents in the township of Phelps, but in the summer the population increases by up to five times. The school also serves as the community center. The Phelps School is deeply committed to 21st Century Learning. In 2009, we introduced 1-to-1 Computing, providing all students in grades 6 – 12 with their own MacBook laptop computer to use in school and at home. In 2010, we expanded the program by supplying classroom sets of iPads to grades 1 – 5 and iPod Touches to grades 4k and K, thereby putting technology in the hands of every one of our students. |
