It is the intent of The Wisconsin American Legion that this award shall enable a student, with a good measure of self-help, to secure a baccalaureate degree. If an applicant is already in college, he/she must have a transcript of high school and the last complete semester of college.
Awards will be given to an applicant that has maintained an academic average of "B" or better for a period of seven high school semesters, based upon the standard of the institution granting the diploma. The applicant also must:
Be able to meet the specific entrance requirements of the chosen learning institution. Complete and submit supporting documents such as: transcript of grades, four recommendation forms, and your ACT score. Documents should be sent by March 1st prior to school opening the following September.
Be willing to sign, along with the parent or guardian, the "Agreement" portion of the application. |

The American Legion awarded over $22,000 in scholarships to deserving players. Each Department Baseball Committee may select a player from their Department to receive this scholarship. The American Legion will award several scholarships this year depending on the number of applicants and interest earned from the trust fund. |

Athletic Requirements
You must be participating in your high school’s boys or girls basketball program during this (your senior) year either as a player or a manager.
- You must be a 2025 graduating senior of a Wisconsin high school – public or private.
- You must attend a University of Wisconsin System school as a full-time student (at least 12 credits), enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program.
- To renew your scholarship, you must maintain performance consistent with the original award criteria, including a GPA of 2.0 or better.
- You must be a bona fide resident of Wisconsin.
- You will need a unique student ID number for the UW System school(s) you are applying to.
- You will need a completed FAFSA form on file (Free Application For Student Aid) for your application to be considered.
- You will need to file an application online during the enrollment period of February 1 – April 30 of your senior year.

Eligibility ? A child of a parent who sustained a work-related serious injury or fatality, covered by the worker’s compensation laws of Wisconsin. Parent’s injury or death must have been a compensable or compromised claim. ? The parent’s injury or death had a financial impact on the family. ? Students should be between the ages of 17 to 24. ? Preference given to students who are Wisconsin residents at time of application. ? Preference given to students entering Wisconsin schools. ? Must have a high school diploma, GED/HSED, or a high school student in good standing (who will graduate in academic year). Scholarship Submission Requirements ? Completed Kids’ Chance Scholarship Application and all required forms by May 1st. ? Narrative (2 page maximum) describing parent’s work-related accident, its personal/economic impact on you and your family, and why the scholarship will help you attain your educational goals. ? Complete of completed FAFSA form (mandatory for scholarship application). ? If possible: Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA processing center; Financial Aid Award letter and Student Account Statement from educational institution. ? High school transcript or college transcript. ? Letter of acceptance from school or class schedule for enrollment ? Both completed authorization forms in Section 4. ? Optional letter(s) of recommendation from a non-relative. Renewing Scholarship Requirements (Required Annually): ? Renewal Application Form by deadline of June 15th. ? The Headwaters Builders Association is an organization of over one hundred members from the Northwoods area. Our membership included the top builders in the area along with highly professional associate members that support the building industry. We believe in strengthening the home building industry through education. It is our ambition to raise money that can offer scholarships to area schools within our service area of: Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Florence, Price and portions of Lincoln County. Students must mee the criteria of continuing their education in a field related to the building trades. We believe in doing our part and welcome you application to receive a grant helping you get started right out of high school and into the work force. Grant monies will be awarded in the name of the applicant and participating HBA member business with the intent of funds to be used to purchases tools, safety equipment, colthing, or boots for your trade related position. |

Rural Mutual Insurance Company, Wisconsin Towns Association, and Scott Construction, Inc. are again offering the following scholarships to winners of an essay contest. Scholarships will be awarded on the following basis:
• Two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded, one each to the highest ranking boy and highest ranking girl from a town or village insured by Rural Mutual Insurance Company as of May 23, 2025.
• Five (5) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded, one each to two boys and two girls. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM WISCONSIN TOWNS ASSOCIATION
